It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of the recent passing of Australian Sitting Volleyball setter Rachael Williams, following her battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family.
A valued member of the Sitting Volleyball community, Rachael’s loss will be felt widely especially by those who played with her over the years.
Volleyball Australia CEO Andrew Dee said: “This is a sad time for our entire Volleyball Australia community as we remember the incredible life of Rachael Williams.
“Rachael was a respected leader within the Australian Sitting Volleyball community, demonstrating the commitment, compassion and leadership qualities that earned her the respect of her teammates. She was also a passionate advocate for making volleyball a sport for all.
“Our thoughts at this tough time are with Rachael’s family, friends and teammates,” he said.
