Club Champions crowned after three days of action in Perth

The 2026 Australian Club Volleyball Championships have wrapped up in Perth, with clubs from across Australia and beyond coming together for three days of competition, connection and club pride from 26-28 September.

Held at Bendat Basketball Centre, the Championships brought together teams of varying experience and ability, providing an opportunity to compete against new opposition, reconnect with familiar faces and enjoy the national club volleyball atmosphere.

Across three days of competition, Reds 1 claimed the Men’s Premier title, Apex Eagles took out Men’s Division 2, while Apex secured the Women’s Division 1 championship.

With the Championships continuing to attract clubs from across the country and beyond, the event offered players the chance to test themselves against different opposition while building connections within the wider volleyball community.

For Northern Stars Men’s Premier player Rohan, the opportunity to compete against teams from across Australia was a highlight of the Championships.

“It’s good to play against eastern teams and other high level teams, and just get exposure and represent and have fun playing more volleyball,” he said.

Teammate Levi echoed the sentiment, enjoying the opportunity to meet new players and compete against unfamiliar opponents.

“It was actually really enjoyable to meet guys that I haven’t seen around in the scene before, and I got to play against players I don’t normally play against, so I have really enjoyed it,” he said.

For some clubs, the 2026 Championships marked their first appearance at the national event.

Teva Titans player Erin said her team had embraced the experience, particularly the opportunity to connect with the wider volleyball community.

“This is actually our first time at club champs, but we have loved meeting new people. The environment is so great,” she said.

HK852 player Sandra, whose team travelled from Sydney, shared a similar experience.

“It’s our first time here, so we flew all the way from Sydney, and everything here is so big, it’s so fun to play against people from all over Australia,” she said.

For returning players, the Championships were also an opportunity to reconnect with teammates, friends and familiar opponents from previous years.

Perth Scorpions player Megan said the social side of the event was just as enjoyable as the competition itself.

“Definitely getting to see everyone, year on year, from interstate and WA. It’s great to see new friends and old friends,” she said.

With another edition of the Australian Club Volleyball Championships complete, the event once again showcased the passion and community spirit of club volleyball, bringing players together through their shared love of the sport.
