Everything you need to know for the 2021 Schools Cup
The 2021 Australian Volleyball Schools Cup returns this weekend to Queensland’s Gold Coast.
The largest school-based sporting event in the Southern Hemisphere is Volleyball Australia’s marquee junior participation event, bringing together secondary school teams to enjoy volleyball, friendly camaraderie and enthusiastic competition amongst the nation’s school community.
The 2020 edition of the event was sadly cancelled due to the Pandemic, and whilst this year’s event will have reduced numbers due to border closures, Volleyball Australia’s event manager Verity Hanka said it’s still really exciting to see the event return in 2021.
“The Volleyball Australia Schools Cup is the major national event of the year for so many school-aged volleyball players,” Hanka said.
“While it will be a reduced event this year due to border closures and restrictions, it is still exciting to see major sports competitions returning in Australia and we’re looking forward to bringing this event back to Queensland after a two-year hiatus.
“With over 50 Queensland schools in action, it’s set to be a really enjoyable week for students, coaches and our valuable volunteers alike.”
