Tickets are still available for all fixtures with matches being played in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane this weekend.
While last season’s results are still firmly in the memories of everyone who enjoyed the inaugural season of Super League action, the tables have been reset and anything can happen in 2024.

2024 Round 3 Results

Men: Heat d Phoenix 4:1 (18-10, 18-17, 18-15, 17-18, 18-17)
NSW Phoenix was the only Super League team to miss out on the 2023 Finals Series and they will be looking to get this campaign off to a fast-start at Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday.
Both the Heat and Phoenix were the two women’s teams to miss out on qualifying for Bendigo last year and they will be hoping to make a charge to Adelaide this year by starting their season with a win.
The Phoenix men’s team only managed one win from their five fixtures last year to finish on the bottom of the ladder. Canberra went into the season as defending champions but only managed a fourth place finish after going down to Melbourne in the Bronze Medal Match in Bendigo.

Men: Perth Steel d Adelaide Storm 3:2 (15-18, 18-17, 18-14, 18-16, 16-18)
> Final: Perth Steel d Adelaide Storm 3:1 (11-18, 18-16, 19-17, 18-16)
Perth and Adelaide were two of the strongest teams from inaugural Super League season, particularly in the men’s competition where little could split the two sides who will be vying for bragging rights yet again on Saturday.
In a match which decided the top two spots on the ladder, the Steel downed the Storm 3:2 in the the final round to stay undefeated, however the close margin of victory and the number of points gained due to set wins saw Adelaide finish on top.
The two sides met again in the Gold Medal match in Bendigo where Perth dropped the first set before charging back for a 3:1 win to take out the title.
When the Adelaide and Perth women’s teams met in round five last year, they were locked at 1:1 and 17-all before Perth edged in front with the 35th and final point of the third set. From there the Steel enjoyed the most dominant set of the season (18-3) on their way to a 4:1 victory, setting themselves up perfectly for the finals series in Bendigo where they sealed double gold for Perth.

Round one will wrap up with the Melbourne Vipers travelling north to take on the Queensland Pirates in Brisbane, with both teams keen to start their season on the right foot.
The Pirates men’s team are coming off a disappointing 2023 campaign where they failed to record a victory. On the other hand, the Vipers went on to claim bronze the bronze medal match over Canberra after defeating Queensland 4:1 during the regular season.
The Pirates and Vipers women’s teams could barely have been more evenly matched last year, with just one point separating them on the table. With the two sides finishing second and third overall in 2023, both teams are primed to get their campaign off to a fast start as they eye off the title in October.
