Play Together: Volleyball Australia launches its 2025-2028 Strategic Plan to grow the game towards Brisbane 2032
Volleyball Australia has unveiled Play Together – Strategic Plan 2025-2028, outlining a united roadmap to grow the sport nationally, strengthen pathways, and prepare Australian volleyball players for success on the road to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Developed through extensive consultation with Member Associations, community leaders, coaches, athletes and partners, the new plan represents the next step in Volleyball Australia’s long-term 2021-2032 strategic horizon, moving from the Foundation phase into the Grow phase.
At its core, Play Together commits Volleyball Australia and its community to a shared mission: to inspire a love of volleyball, foster participation and excellence, and build a sustainable, inclusive, and high-performing sport for all.
This is more than a plan, it’s a commitment to smarter structures, stronger pathways, and a more connected national volleyball community.
The plan is underpinned by six values that shape how the sport leads, grows and performs:

These values reflect volleyball’s vision of being one of Australia’s most welcoming, vibrant, and innovative sports.
Our Three Strategic Priorities
- Organisation Capability – building a stronger, smarter, more sustainable system
Volleyball Australia will modernise operations across the national system, creating shared services, streamlined administration, and consumer-focused experiences.
- Sport Community – growing participation, visibility and connection
The plan commits to strengthening clubs, expanding programs, and making volleyball more accessible in schools, multi-sport centres and community spaces.
- Performance & Pathways – sustained success on the world stage
Volleyball Australia will deliver world-leading performance systems across beach, indoor and sitting volleyball, supported by data-driven pathways and athlete wellbeing structures.

Volleyball Australia President Craig Carracher said the plan reflects a united and ambitious volleyball community: “Play Together sets out how our sport can grow stronger, through integration, innovation and shared purpose. By aligning national ambition with local passion, we are building a system ready to thrive through to 2032.”
