Sporting Schools
Sporting Schools is a $320 million Australian Government initiative designed to help schools to increase children’s participation in sport, and to connect children with community sport. Sporting Schools will fund sporting activities, including volleyball in more than 5,700 schools and provide access to a range of trained community coaches.
Volleyball Australia are excited to be a part of this sporting journey and to be working closely with Australia’s primary schools, teachers, coaches and parents to nurture the next generation’s commitment and love of volleyball now, and into the future.
Students engage with Volleyball Australia’s Spikezone program, through a series of entry-level skill and game-related coaching sessions for Volleyball or Beach Volleyball, which can be modified to suit various ages, skill level and group size to ensure players have a fun experience while learning the game.
Club Connect aims to support primary school students to transition from a school-based sporting program to participating at their local sporting club, promoting lifelong engagement in sport.
Volleyball Australia through our Member States and club delivery network is willing to encourage a transition into the club from school delivery and programs that will promote lifelong engagement in the sport. Find out more at the at the Club Connect page on Sport Australia’s – Sporting Schools website.
