The Volleyroos VNL campaign comes to a close

Last night the Volleyroos FIVB Volleyball Nations League campaign came to an end. The Volleyroos put up a fight against the Netherlands in their last match but unfortunately fell short, going down in three sets (23-25, 19-25, 19-25).

After a tight first set the Volleyroos looked poised to take out the second before the 14th ranked Netherlands side proved too strong and claimed the match in three sets.

Volleyroos co-captain Nehemiah Mote was disappointed the team couldn’t finish the tournament the way they wanted to but was proud of everyone’s contribution across the five weeks.

“Everyone put in so much effort – players, staff, coaches and statisticians.

“Now we have finished the tournament with no major injuries and are looking forward to resting and preparing for the next tournament which is the Asian Championships.“

The 2021 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championships is the next major tournament for the Volleyroos. The tournament will be held in Chiba, Japan from the 12 to 19 September.

During this tournament the Australian Volleyroos will face teams from Japan, Iran, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, China, Pakistan, India, Qatar, Kazakhstan and Thailand.
