2022 AUSTRALIAN MASTERS BEACH VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS CANCELLED

Volleyball Australia (VA) has had to make the difficult decision to cancel the 2022 Australian Masters Beach Volleyball Championships.

Originally slated to be held on Great Keppel Island from 1-5 May, VA has decided to cancel the event due to a number of factors including the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and short time frame for event delivery.

VA CEO Andrew Dee said that although disappointing the event will not proceed in 2022, he looks forward to bringing the first national Masters event to life in 2023.

“We are disappointed to make the decision to cancel this year’s Australian Masters Beach Volleyball Championships.

“Given the ongoing challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to give our Masters community the best chance at participation.

“Therefore, our focus will now be on delivering the event successfully in 2023, and we have earmarked August 2023, with dates to be confirmed in the coming months.

“We would like to thank our beach volleyball community, and event partners, for their ongoing support and look forward to delivering the first Masters Championships next year,” he said.
