Sydney Amazon’s Ovid Prosilis said: “We want to thank Volleyball Australia, its management, staff, volunteers and tournament organisers for providing a pathway to national competition, international player experiences and the opportunity to connect, compete and grow.”
Fellow Sydney Amazon Club member, Patricia Koutsoukos-Setter, said: “The competition gave us the opportunity to play at a national level and represent our Club Endeavour and the Sydney Amazons. It was great to be able to travel to such a beautiful and welcoming town, Bendigo, and play at such a great stadium. The best thing about their championships was being able to connect with the broader national volleyball community and play against other Clubs at a high level.”
Volleyball Australia’s Director, Sport Delivery and Growth, Phil Muller, said: “Today’s final of the Australian Club Championships caps off a fantastic nine days in Bendigo that has also featured the Australian Youth Championships.
“Once again we saw the Club Volleyball Championships deliver not only impressive performances on the court, but tremendous comradery outside of the competition.
“While we saw clubs battle it out today for the medals on offer, the event also afforded players the chance to develop their skills and provide opportunities as part of their volleyball pathway.
“A huge thanks to the Greater City of Bendigo council, all our sponsors as well as our referees and volunteers who without we could not deliver such high quality competition. Congratulations to all clubs who took part.”
