Australian Junior Volleyball Championships land in Sydney this week

The Australian Junior Volleyball Championships takes place this weekend in Sydney with 42 teams from around Australia and four teams from the United States vying for glory.

The 2023 Australian Junior Volleyball Championships is open to entries from any affiliated state, association, club, training academy or international federation in under 19 and under 23 age groups.

The Under 19 women’s event has been split into two competitions – Premier Division and Division One.

Last year’s Championship saw the trophies shared around with teams from Victoria, New Zealand, South Australia and Queensland taking out the titles.

Volleyball Australia Events Manager Verity Hanka said the competition would be a great opportunity to see some of the sport’s future stars going head to head.

“The Australian Junior Volleyball Championships is one of the feature events on our domestic calendar and everyone is really looking forward to the competition getting underway on Friday,” she said.

“This is not only a tournament which provides development opportunities for young players, it is also a showcase of how many talented players we have in these age groups.

“It will be three days of fierce competition and it’s fantastic to see even more teams entering compared to last year.”

The Australian Junior Volleyball Championships take place from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 July at Netball Central, Sydney Olympic Park. Click here for draws and results.
