15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championships – Team Selection Announcement

Volleyball Australia has announced a 12-player squad to contest the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championships.

The tournament will be held in Bahrain from 28 July to 4 August, with the team assembling in Manama from 21 July to acclimatise and prepare.

The team includes five debutants and has been placed in Pool A alongside Thailand, Hong Kong and the host nation, Bahrain.

“Both Lauren (Assistant Coach) and I are immensely proud of the progress shown by each member of the youth squad over the past 18 months and the depth of the entire program is extremely positive,” said head coach Adrien Ickowicz. “The unwavering dedication and determination serve as a testament to their potential for success in the lead up to of course our Asian Championships campaign this year but for future years to come.

“Continuing our progress and expanding our athlete base to enhance competitiveness will ensure even greater success as this group transitions into our junior program.

“To be able to have 48 high quality athletes vying for just 12 spots of course made the decisions extremely difficult and whilst there is natural disappointment amongst some, we believe we have been able to find a 12 that can help Australia make a positive impact on this tournament in 2024.”
