
Bendigo to host national volleyball tournaments for the third year in a row
Bendigo is set to remain the hub of Australian indoor volleyball for the next 12 months with two major tournaments returning to the city in September 2024.
The Australian Youth Volleyball Championships will take place from 16 – 20 September at the Red Energy Arena, with the Australian Club Volleyball Championships to take place immediately after from 21 – 23 September.
Volleyball Australia CEO Andrew Dee said the eight days of action will showcase the camaraderie of the Australian volleyball community at its best.
“It’s wonderful to once again bring the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships and the Club Championships back to Bendigo after what has been a successful two years of hosting the event,” he said.
“Bendigo combines the best facilities, accommodation and community appetite for the sport, making it a great place for our young athletes and their families to thrive.
“We are thrilled to return to Bendigo for the third year running in what is sure to be another rewarding year.”
Manager of Tourism and Major Events at the City of Greater Bendigo, Terry Karamaloudis said the City of Bendigo welcomed the return of the Volleyball Australia events.
“The City is delighted to see the return of two very exciting Volleyball Championships taking place back-to-back next September at our fantastic Red Energy Arena,” Karamaloudis said.
“We strongly support these top-quality tournaments and look forward to seeing talented players battle it out at national level in Bendigo next year.”
Information on registering for the events will be released closer to the dates.
