EOIs Open for VA Sitting Volleyball Development Camp & Tournament
Volleyball Australia welcomes interested athletes and coaches to our Sitting Volleyball Development Camp and Tournament happening from Friday, November 10th to Sunday, November 12th at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra.
This event is a great learning opportunity for athletes interested in learning more about sitting volleyball and giving it a try. Athletes are not required to possess prior volleyball experience, but strong athletic abilities and a positive attitude are greatly appreciated.
What You Can Expect:
This Event is for All Levels:
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player or coach, our camp is open to everyone. Our expert coaches will provide training that suits your skill level.
You do not need to have a disability to be involved. Only if you intend to compete internationally at a World ParaVolley event i.e. Zonal Championships or Paralympic Pathway Events, will you need official classification as governed by World ParaVolley.
Event Structure:
Friday – Arrival to AIS by 12pm. Training 1-3pm & 6-7.30pm.
Saturday – Training between 8am-12pm. Tournament play 2-6pm.
Sunday – Tournament play 8am-2pm. Departure from AIS 3pm.
Tournament Play:
The tournament will provide an opportunity to test your abilities and enjoy some friendly competition. The competition structure will depend on the athletes in attendence. It may be mixed teams, gender specific or a combination of both. Players will be allocated accordingly into teams.
National Team Selection:
For those aspiring to represent their country, this camp is a gateway to potential national team selection.
World Class Facilities:
Train like a pro at the world-renowned AIS, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to enhance your experience. Participants can also choose to stay on site with all meals included.
Networking and Fun in Safe Environment:
Connect with other players and coaches, build new friendships, and enjoy a weekend filled with camaraderie and team spirit.

Cost (Fee will be invoiced when application is approved):
Athlete Camp Fee Only (Lunch Sat/Sun incl): $120
Athlete Camp Fee and AIS Accommodation (Meals Fri Dinner – Sun Lunch incl): $300
Coach Camp Fee Only (Lunch Sat/Sun incl): $90
Coach Camp Fee and AIS Accommodation (Meals Fri Dinner – Sun Lunch incl): $200
All travel bookings and cost to Canberra are the responsibility of the individual. VA can provide free tranfers from Canberra Airport, Tain Station or Bus Depot if required.
