McHugh and Schumann Up For Tall Order
Aussie duo Chris McHugh and Damien Schumann will take on 7-foot Konstantin Semenov and teammate Ilya Leshukov representing the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) in their second match of Tokyo 2020.
Fresh off pushing world number one Mol and Sorum from Norway to an achingly close 3-setter, McHugh and Schumann will aim to notch their first win of the Games on Monday afternoon at 4pm AEST.
The ROC pair enter the tournament ninth in beach volleyball Olympic ranking, with Tokyo the third Games for Semenov and Leshukov making his debut.
McHugh and Schumann said their strong performance against dominant net forces Norway gives them confidence heading into Monday’s match up.
