Volleyroos take positives away from a tough match against Serbia

Last night the Volleyroos kicked off their fifth group of games in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League. Hoping to add to their Victory against Iran.

Taking on Serbia currently ranked 6th in the competition. The Volleyroos game didn’t open up as they had hoped going down in the first two sets, they were able to regroup and maintain control to take out the third set (16-25, 13-25, 25-19, 15-25)

Volleyroo Tobi Azeez saw some clear takeaways from the match against a strong Serbian side.

“There are positive things going forward, I think, we did a good job controlling the tenacity of our serve and when the game was playing we executed very well.

“It’s just a matter of consistency for further games. Serbia are a strong team, they have strong players and sometimes it’s tough to have good touches and some plays, but they are definitely a tough opponent.”

In their next match the Volleyroos will meet the 12th ranked Canadian side who are looking to improve their position during the final block of matches.

Watch the Volleyroos take on Canada tonight at 6:00pm AEST.
