Women’s U20 touring squad for Japan announced

Volleyball Australia is pleased to announce the Women’s U20 Squad which will travel to Japan for a Development Tour from 26 May to 5 June.

Cameron Zajer (SA) and Gemma McNamara (VIC) bring their experience to the 14-player squad after being members of the 2024 Australian Team which contested the 22nd Asian U20 Women’s Volleyball Championships in China.

Rosie Alchin (WA), Chelsea Cocks (NSW), Charlotte Hansen (QLD) and Anni Tang (NSW) have stepped up from the last year’s national team which played at the 15th Asian Women’s U18 Volleyball Championship, a side which was coached by Kathryn Chen who heads up the coaching staff of this squad.

“This squad has a great mix of players with international experience in youth competition and a number of others who have fought their way to selection on this Tour,” said Paul Smith, Volleyball Australia Deputy High Performance Director.

“Players in this age bracket are definitely on the runway towards Brisbane 2032 and every opportunity to perform at the top level can only be beneficial for their game.”
