
Volleyball Australia adopts Sport Integrity Australia’s National Integrity Framework
Volleyball Australia is pleased to announce its partnership with Sport Integrity Australia along with the adoption of the National Integrity Framework and associated integrity policies.
The National Integrity Framework is a suite of policies, developed by Sport Integrity Australia to protect all participants in sport from integrity threats such as abuse, harassment, misuse of drugs and medicines, match-fixing.
This Framework includes an independent complaint handling process that allows anyone involved to have their complaint independently managed by Sport Integrity Australia.
Volleyball Australia CEO Andrew Dee welcomed the suite of policies that will assist in providing a safe, fair and transparent environment for athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers.
“We’re pleased to adopt the National Integrity Framework at Volleyball Australia, to allow us to help better provide a safe, fair and transparent environment for all participants,” Dee said.
“Embedding this framework into our processes and procedures will help improve how we manage, report and investigate prohibited conduct under the new policies,” he said.
Sport Integrity Australia’s CEO David Sharpe welcomed the decision by Volleyball Australia to adopt the Framework.
“The adoption of the National Integrity Framework is the result of collaboration between Volleyball Australia and Sport Integrity Australia, the NIF provides a safe and fair environment for anyone participating in volleyball,” Mr Sharpe said.
The Framework consists of six integrity-related policies that set out the broad expectations for the conduct of all participants in volleyball, including:
- National Integrity Framework
- Member Protection Policy
- Child Safeguarding Policy
- Competition Manipulation and Sport Wagering Policy
- Improper Use of Drugs and Medicine Policy
- Complaints, Disputes and Discipline Policy
Volleyball Australia’s National Integrity Framework comes into effect on 27 July 2022, which will see Sport Integrity Australia take over the management of all complaints concerning integrity matters for the sport.
