Volleyroos fought hard against Slovenia
Last night the Volleyroos fought hard in their Round 4 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) match against Slovenia but lost in four sets (18-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-17).
The Volleyroos won the first set of the match, picking up from where they finished against Iran but were unfortunately unable to continue the momentum throughout the next three sets, doing down three sets to one against Slovenia.
“We definitely caught them (Slovenia) by surprise but as with all good teams in the VNL it’s undoubtable that they will respond and when they did we weren’t able to stay with them,” Volleyroo Luke Smith said.
Smith said the team was disappointed to not take another victory last night but are happy with the progress they are making everyday.
“Tuesday’s victory was really important to raise the belief, but last night’s loss is a little bit disappointing again, because like in the matches before we were not able to come away with any points.” Smith said.
The Volleyroos will take their fight and determination into tonight’s game against Brazil at 11pm AEST.
